Biography
Uddannet på Det kgl. Teaters elevskole 1932-34 med debut på teatret i 1935. Hendes karriere udfoldede sig ved skiftende teatre og ofte i det tragiske rollefag, hvor hendes præstationer gjorde stort indtryk: "H.-M. indtog indenfor sin tids teater en særstilling ved sin stærke, ejendommelige personlighed. Hun var både erotisk skuespillerinde og karakterkunstnerinde" (citat fra Dansk biografisk leksikon, 3. udg., 1980). I karrierens senere år blev hun en aktiv iscenesætter, hvis force var personinstruktionen.

Architect Poul Friis Henriksen falls in love with Norwegian Gerd. Unfortunately, she is already engaged to the doctor Arne Lorentzen, whose former wife died of an overdose under mysterious circumstances. Gerd invites Poul to a party at her home, where he accidentally sees her secretly taking a syringe. This makes Poul suspect that Arne is anything but the perfect husband. He sets out to investigate the matter further.
Letter from the Dead
Ersilla arrives almost lifeless when she seeks out the famous writer Ludovico Nota at his boarding house. It quickly becomes apparent that she has turned to prostitution in despair after her fiancé Franco cheated on her.

One day Eva takes the manuscript for her novel out of the drawer, and as she starts leafing through it, we are drawn into its plot. The book, titled "I Met a Murderer", has Eva Saabye as one of the main characters.
