Comic artist Brösel trades a magic pen that helps him come up with funny stories for the promise to fulfill one of Rumpelstiltskin's wishes. The resulting animated films show episodes of the life of Werner, a plumber apprentice and motorbike enthusiast and his friends. They are interspersed with the live-action portions.

Werner, Andi and Eckat play dice to determine the next king of the trio. When Werner is crowned king, he decides for all of them to skip work and start for Korsika.

Because of a bet, Werner and his friend have to construct the fastest vehicle to win a race, because life depends on it.

A piece of lint from a Beethoven fan's record collection sticks to the clothes of a bank robber. Inspector Koschonsky finds the lint and solves the case using a chain of evidence consisting of lint, musical notes, and sounds.

The animated picture story tells the fate of a fart that escapes a prison warden as he falls into the underworld of the sewer system. While the warden sinks deeper and deeper, the fart has bitter experiences in the upper world. Only when he saves a pair of lovers from a robber and unites with his terrifying fart to form a cloud does he find happiness.

Documentary film about the Release Group Hamburg.

Two aspiring filmmakers walk through Hamburg with a camera operator and a sound operator. From the time they get out bed to their encounter with a production manager, they are harassed by an intermittent white dot.

What’s a star in a movie? A black dot in the film negative. In the nineteen eighties I enjoyed painting on 35mm blank film and painted a negative. That means every frame was painted in reverse color - black became white, blueish green became red, yellow was to be sort of blue. The result: all colors are on black background - like in the windows in old cathedrals. The music was improvised after the film was finished by Jasper van’t Hof, vocals by Eva Mattes. The film was premiered in competition at the Berlinale 1985.
