Dutch prostitutes Greta and Nel cruise the Amsterdam red light district, seeking clients to involve in their elaborately staged fetish fantasies, be it disciplinarian headmistresses, surgeons cutting open a willing patient, or even dressing up as chickens, the duo show their expertise in role-playing again and again and again. The story of a man who goes out looking for hamburgers, while he has a beautiful steak at home. Frank and Eva can't live together, but can't live without each other either. Frank has sex with every woman he can get, while Eva wants to start a family.

Hein Slotter, unpopular director of a pram factory, reluctantly agrees to celebrate his 25th anniversary. His only wish is that his successor and mentor, Slieps, gives a speech. Unfortunately Slieps is quite senile and only occasionally has a bright moment. Meanwhile, the party committee learns of a rumor concerning Slotter's younger days and plans to embarrass him during this festive occasion.

The film is set in a signalman's house during the German occupation. When it turns out that the mother has committed adultery with a German, things start to go downhill for the father. Germans take over his land, and his children fend for themselves.
