Louise Mareuil owns a perfume factory on the French Riviera. She is in a traffic accident with a sketch artist, Claude Dubois. She gives him a blank check which he soon use to withdraw 2 000 000 franc as a joke. Visiting her office, he returns the money and in return she hires him as a sketch artist for the company's advertisement. The boxing promoter Charlie returns from America to Sweden and needs to find a professional Swedish boxer for an upcoming fight. By chance Charlie watches Björn Harring fight off some hoodlums. Charlie sees great potential in Björn and wants to promote him for an upcoming fight, the problem is though that Björn is studying theology and is soon to become a priest. This might not look too good in a prejudiced society of the 40s with a boxing priest, but Charlie is determent to find a way.

In a movie studio, a fight scene is underway. The hero, played by Allan Bergner, will make an impression on the heroine, played by Ylva Vendel. But Allan is not prepared to give more than one pale hint of fight; he wants to be presentable in later scenes as well. The director wears his hair.
