Biography
Jason Raymond is a Ghanaian-American visual storyteller and animator based in New York. He recently graduated from Pratt Institute with a B.F.A in Digital Arts, where he developed a practice grounded in magic and culturally rich narratives. Jason’s work centers around the lives of Black youth, using animated imagery to explore themes of identity and transformation. Jason has worked as an Artistic Intern and Titmouse Animation Studios and was a part of their inaugural Future Directors program. He’s brought his storytelling skills to the upcoming animation short film Mmanwu, which weaves folklore into a visually symbolic story. Jason hopes to continue using visual storytelling as a tool to uplift, inspire, and expand how black stories are seen and felt.
