On the show, the eponymous main character resides at the Newtown Zoo, with friends Otto and Stella. The adventures Benjamin gets involved in often require slipping into various roles, learning new jobs, or discovering new and distant places.

Bibi Blocksberg is a normal little girl - although she can do magic she still has a lot to learn. She's always full of entertaining ideas, one little "Wizz-wizz" and a problem is solved or maybe it's just the start of one.
Elation in Neustadt: by the means of a little witching, Bibi Blocksberg saved two kids from burning to death. While her mother Barbara, a witch of flesh and blood herself, is very proud of her daughter, father Bernhard, overworked and stressed, disapproves greatly of her supernatural antics. Then Bibi gets a message from Walpurgia, the senior witch: she is going to receive her crystel ball, that will make a "real" witch of her, early. Proudly, Bibi jumps up her broom to fly to the Blocksberg, the witches' headquarters. But Rabia, one of the few evil witches, aging in misery and with a secret, begrudges her all the glory...and her youth. And so Rabia sets off events that will soon make Bibi's life fall into pieces.
At summer camp, young Bibi and her friends are pitted against the boys in a treasure hunt. But what's a witch to do when she loses her powers?
Bibi Blocksberg visits her friend Tina Martin at the riding stables during the summer vacation. This year there is to be a special horse race organized by Count Falko. However, the two friends run into trouble when Sophia von Gelenberg from an elite boarding school at Falkenstein Castle, a participant and close acquaintance of the house, arrives and tries to steal Tina's boyfriend Alexander. The shady businessman Hans Kakmann is also up to no good, and it's not just the foal Socrates, known as "Socke", he's after. Bibi tries to save Alex and Tina's relationship on the one hand and expose Kakmann's business practices on the other. But even witchcraft can't prevent her from turning everyone against her, Count Falko enrolling his son in boarding school and Kakman offering to buy the foal "Socke".
When robbers hit Falkenstein castle, teen witch Bibi and pal Tina hunt for the crooks, then devise a plan to save the neighbors' failing ranch.
Bibi, the young witch from Neustadt, is excited: the big international witches' convention is taking place on the Blocksberg and she and her friends Schubia and Flauipaui are allowed to be there as volunteers. But just as the future of the young witches is at stake, events take a turn for the worst and complete chaos ensues! The old witches of Neustadt suddenly start behaving like unpredictable teenagers and the young witches have their hands full not only trying to bring order to the chaos they have caused...
Poor Bibi - due to her bad marks in maths she has to spend the whole summer in the boarding school of Altenberg to scrape through a series of exams - otherwise she'd stay down in school, being forced to repeat the year. No camping, no white-water rafting, no vacation at all. So it doesn't surprise anyone that the young witch is quite disgruntled when arriving at Altenberg Castle. Her roommate is a touchy unpleassant fashion victim and headmaster Quirin Bartels is so muddle-headed that he can't even remember the names of his students properly. But then Bibi makes friends with Elea, a girl wheelchair-bound since a terrible accident where she also lost her beloved parents. Now Bibi is determined to help the sensitive Elea, searching a way to heal her from her palsy legs.
Benjamin and his best friend Otto have to deal with the shrewd Zora Zack and to reach deep into their bag of tricks to save the Newtown Zoo.

Mari is nine, bright, curious and the daughter of a contented, happy family. Mrs. Panacek is seventy, a little confused, but still alert and sometimes even cheeky. She lives in a home to which her son-in-law has sent her in order to have a free hand in running the family fish business. Mari notices Mrs. Panacek because she is wearing two different stockings, including a red one. "Red keeps you warm," says Mrs. Panacek. When Mrs. Panacek runs away from the home, Mari takes her open-minded parents at their word and simply brings the old woman home with her. Didn't her parents always say that you have to be there for others too? Well, they didn't quite mean it that way, but after initial fears and insecurities, Mari's parents realize that they have to show commitment. The film tells the story of an unusual friendship without slipping into social utopia.

Bibi receives an invitation to the traditional witch Halloween of the old witches Mania, Walpurgia and Runzia. It's a huge honor - up until now, young witches have never been invited! But Bibi can only be half happy, because on the same evening she has planned a big appearance with Florian and Marita at the Halloween party in the town hall.
