Biography
Han Thit Htoo Aung is a Burmese filmmaker who uses humor to reflect on global issues. He began his career as a scriptwriter in 2018 and has since directed several short films. His short film She Isn’t Alone won Best Short Film and Best Title at the Care Myanmar Film Festival in 2020. In 2022, his short film script Mania was selected for the Purin Short Film Camp, supported by Netflix. His first documentary, Journey of a Bird, was selected for the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival in 2023 and Taiwan International Documentary FIlm Festival in 2024. His debut feature film project, When The World Is Paused, produced by Pyae Zaw Phyo, was officially selected for the QCinema Project Market 2025 in the Philippines, where it received three awards: the Kingyo Production Award, the CmB Discovery Award, and the Narra Post-Production Award.
