A documentary television series of the Nazi-Soviet War, edited from over 3.5 million feet of film taken by Soviet camera crews from the first day of the war, 22 June 1941, to the Soviet entry into Berlin in May 1945.

The life story of Marshal Georgi Zhukov, hero of the First World War and commander of the Red Army during World War II, as told by actor Mikhail Ulyanov, who often portrayed him on film.

The film was created to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the October Revolution and tells about the main events of each decade.
