Thus, through the eyes and journey of a child creating a gift for an absent mother, "Au regard de ses pensées" reveals a social dead-end imposed from the earliest age and conditioned, primarily, by a lack of attention.

It's the birthday of a shy young girl named Livie. Her friends have planned a wild party for her. But she refuses to go, preferring to stay in her room (her safe place) where she can dream and feel free to express her feelings. However, her friends insist, even coming to her house and her room. Even though outside elements intrude on her safe place, she still has her imagination to escape to.
