Ingridi Viruel (born October 22, 1999) is a Brazilian photographer, director and cinematographer whose work weaves surreal, symbolic narratives that blend influences from fashion, fine art, and cinematography. Her background in art history and her interest in philosophy infuse her practice with a deep exploration of the complexities of the human experience, using a camera as a medium to access the subconscious mind.

TIME... A NIGHTMARE AND A DREAM. A solitary woman drifts through, shadowed by a mysterious creature. As she struggles to escape its presence, fragments of the natural world and the consequences of time, are seen in intimate detail: mold, shells, the flame of a candle. She neglects deteriorating but it catches up to her. EFÊMERA PARADOXAL is a meditation on memory, mortality, and the beauty of impermanence.

This project directed by Ingridi Viruel is an allegorical exploration of Dante’s Inferno, written in the early 14th century. Inferno is not just a journey through Hell; it is a reflection on sin, morality, and the consequences of human actions. Beyond Dante’s Inferno, the project is shaped by literary and philosophical influences rooted in nihilism, absurdity, and surrealism.

“In Between Bones" is an evocative project made in Brooklyn, NY during Winter of 2022. Directed, shot, and processed by Ingridi Viruel, and featuring Luana Seu. The project delves deep into the tumultuous landscape of human emotions, presenting a raw and unfiltered portrayal of the intricate dance between despair and happiness, love and anger. Through its narrative, "In Between Bones" reflects the philosophical chaos that resides within us all. It examines the spectrum of feelings that define our existence, imposing confrontation with the intensity of our own emotions. The project posits that in the intricate weave of life, no feeling is insignificant or unworthy of expression. Ultimately, "In Between Bones" delivers a poignant message: no feelings should ever be repressed.
