In the center of the plot is a senior investigator named Masha Shvetsova and her male colleagues. The plot is the most vital, but, like in “Streets of Broken Lanterns,” it is seasoned with a fair amount of humor - otherwise, how can the audience (and the heroes) endure countless morgues, identifications and other “cute” charms of the investigative routine?

Former boxer Egor Tarantsev arrives in his native seaside town for his mother's funeral. Twenty years ago, he left for competitions and never returned to these parts. His career took off, he turned professional from amateurs, fought for the championship title in Las Vegas, everything was going well in the ring, until one day the doctors gave Egor a verdict - if he did not stop, the consequences could be irreparable, from stroke to death.
A group of Swedish tourists are on the way to a Russian village to witness the so called 'Festivity of Neptunus', in which the inhabitants take a dive in a hole in the ice. This tradition, however, does not exist at all. The inhabitants try to make a good impression by starting the 'tradition' to please the tourists.
The action begins at a meeting in a Voronezh hospital. Doctor Tatiana Bobrova is nervous - she needs to go home, but the head doctor won't let her go until all the issues are resolved. Finally, she manages to escape. Her husband, police captain Sergei Bobrov, who holds one of the key positions in the Internal Affairs Department, is waiting for her at home. He meets her with a stream of accusations, quickly drives himself into a frenzy and beats Tatiana, neatly bypassing her face and visible parts of her body. Tatiana got married three months ago, and two weeks ago had already suffered one beating. That time he apologized, swore that it would never happen again... Even then she had already considered running away, but did not have time to prepare properly. And now Tatiana decides to escape immediately.
At the festivities marking the christening of princess Theresa, daughter of King Gaston IX, a wicked fairy made a mysterious prophecy about the girl's life. Seventeen years later, Theresa falls in love with a poor prince named Jacques. Then the prophecy starts coming true...
Captain Emelin, nicknamed Emelya, Captain Vasin and Dolbunov are investigating the most complicated crimes, and criminologist Masha Likhacheva helps them in this. Emelya's reputation is so-so, the head of the department, Colonel Khitruk, dislikes him for his independent character, but has to put up with him because Emelya has a good disclosure.
The protagonist of the film is a six-year-old boy, whose penetration into the fairy-tale world and communication with its inhabitants helps to get rid of the feeling of fear that haunts him.
It is based on real events that modern science has not been able to explain. Each of the eight films begins with a historical reference: about Hitler's personal astrologer, about the predictions of Grigory Rasputin and Nostradamus. Actors recreate the events that struck the whole world, and researchers and people with supernatural abilities offer their own interpretation of these events.
A love comes unexpected to the businessman (who meets the scientist woman) and his daughter (who meets scientist' sun).
