Biography
Sabina Jafar is a film director, screenwriter, and conceptual artist. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Management and a Master’s degree in Sociology of Management. She also studied screenwriting at the Azerbaijan Film Academy and contemporary art at Yarat Contemporary Art School. Her directorial debut, the short film “Sonlular”, was screened at the Baku Short Film Festival, where it won first place in competition. Her second film, “Səhəri Dirigözlü aç”, was selected for several student film festivals. Her film “Məngənə” was showcased at the Cinemoff Festival, while her most recent work, “Ortaq!?”, was presented at the Sevil International Women’s Documentary Film Festival. In addition to filmmaking, Sabina works as an art director and production designer, having contributed to projects such as “Ya Səbir”, “Dərin Sular Üzərində”, and “Charlotte”. Her video art works have also been exhibited at Yarat Contemporary Art Space and the Context Video-Art Festival.
