At Yumura Onsen in Hyōgo, a lonely man spends his days boiling hot spring eggs while waiting for someone, crossing paths with visitors whose personal stories unfold in short dramas that last as long as the eggs take to cook.

After giving up on his career as a musician, Matsumoto spends his days as an editor of OPSY, a music magazine specializing in body modification counterculture such as implants, split tongues, and the like. One day, on the company president’s orders, he makes his way to a concert by a production company-promoted band, The PEACH BOYS. However, due to how awful it is, he despairs of his life as an editor, bemoaning “what a waste of time.” After the show, he is introduced to another band by the manager. He has a shocking encounter with THE COLLECTED FREAKS, a band that burst onto the scene suddenly and without warning, unlike any other on earth. And then, “in order to love himself”, Matsumoto makes a certain decision…
