Giulio is a widower, struggling to raise three sons, Marco, Rudi, and Mimmo, as best he can. He lives in Rome's working-class Garbatella neighborhood and runs a wine shop with his two brothers. Don Donato accompanies his congregation of villagers to visit Roma World, a theme park set in ancient Rome. Meanwhile, however, preparations for Luna and Luigi's wedding are interrupted by the arrival of the bishop's twin brother, Angelo, who is desperately searching for a hidden inheritance consisting of twelve gold bars. Don Donato joins the treasure hunt, taking advantage of the bishop's absence, who is away in Rome on a mission.

Don Donato and company go on a trip to Cinecittà World theme park, where Luna and Luigi have decided to spend their honeymoon. Don Dino's church is always empty. In fact, the town's faithful frequent the new church, run by Don Gabriele, a pimp priest who knows how to deal with people. Donato's arrival initially seems like the final blow for Don Dino's church: Donato doesn't know where to start a mass, he has never confessed or married anyone, the mere idea of ​​performing an extreme unction scares him. Don Dino begins to argue with Donato: he seems anything but a priest. But little by little, Don Donato's extravagant ways, his open-mindedness as a "sinner", his mentality as a rock priest, begin to attract the faithful.

Don Donato is ready to reveal to everyone that he is not a real priest in order to return to Cesira and be a father to Junior. However, his uncle hinders him in every way for fear that such a scandal will make him lose the opportunity to become a cardinal.
