It is a bitter story about a middle-aged man, who hates his life and other people, including himself. Adam Miauczynski, the character known from director Marek Koterski's previous films, is a 44 year-old teacher, who reads poetry during school lessons and later goes home swearing and calling his neighbours' names. The worst pain for him is the next 5 minutes of living. He doesn't accept himself and even everyday contacts with others cause his aggression. Though constantly dreaming of a romantic love, he is not bold enough to make his dreams come true. The desperate Miauczynski personalizes our own fears and obsessions, which have become so visible recently.

Twenty-two years ago Piotr Szczepański decided to make a film about a group of his friends every ten years, creating a unique generation portrait. These friends were the punk rock band Cool Kids of Death. The first part of the saga was the 2004 awarded documentary “C.K.O.D. Generation”. Twenty years after its foundation and ten years after disbanding, Cool Kids of Death starts a special tour of concerts now having a cult status. Will this reunion bring something more than just purely mercantile benefits?

Ten years on, Cool Kids of Death are back on the road, grappling with what their music has meant to their generation and how it can sustain them in a changed reality. Director Piotr Szczepański reunites with the band he first filmed in “Generation C.K.O.D.” to explore their compromises, doubts, and efforts to make a living from the sound that defined them.

What does it mean to be a Jew in Poland now? Piotr Szczepański reveals another surprising piece of the cultural mosaic of Łódź in his documentary. The protagonists' lives prove that close ties with their religion and history do not exclude their relationship with counterculture and propensity for creative provocation. Thanks to people like them – open-minded and unconventional – the Jewish culture has a chance to last and thrive in our country. Besides, ‘@miriamfrompoland’ is a story, which presents a traditional, yet not quite typical, family with impressive observational virtuosity.

For two years, the director traveled wherever the members of the Cool Kids Of Death band appeared. He used a camera to record fragments of concerts, interviews, heavy drinking parties and obscene conversations held backstage, so it's no wonder that he became friends with the musicians. However, the true measure of this friendship turns out to be his film, in which Szczepanski escapes both the temptation to make a joke about his friends and a harsh lampoon.
