The events begin on March 15, 1920. The captain Davut, who belongs to the Kuvva-i Milliye in Anatolia, and the commander Tilki join the alliance that first presses the Akbas Ammunition and transfers the ammunition to the Kuvva-i Milliye on a received code.
Aysesin is the daughter of a Pasha known for opposing the Sultan. She sets out to go hunting with her fiance Kerim in Adapazari. Fettah, the Adapazari Police Commander, also has his eye on Aysesin. But she rejects his offer.

The film depicts Namık Kemal's love for his country. The newspaper İbret, published by Namık Kemal and his friends, is shut down on the grounds that it incites the people to rebellion. Namık Kemal and his friends are sent into exile. On the ship they board to go into exile, Namık Kemal tells his friends about his play titled "Vatan" (Homeland). The play tells the story of Islam and Zekiye, who are in love with each other, and their struggle for their homeland. Islam forms a volunteer regiment to go to war. Zekiye joins the volunteers in male disguise, both to be close to Islam and to serve the homeland. Love for the homeland will bring Islam and Zekiye closer together.
Ayse who lost her husband and child during the occupation of Izmir by Greek Army in 1919 goes to Istanbul to attend demonstrations which are arranged against the occupation of Anatolia. And then she passes to Anatolia to be a nurse and meets with Ihsan there. At that time Turkish War of Independence starts and they participate to this battle together.
The Turkish Sultan decides to send his armies in war against the remnant of the Roman Empire, Byzantine. All of his advisory council assent to the move with the exception of one aged councilor, who allies himself with the Byzantines, who kidnap the fiancée of the Turkis army leader. The Sultan orders the army leader, along with two others, to proceed to Byzantine for espionage purposes. There, they contact a couple sympathetic to the Turkish cause and, with their home as the base, gather information about the city's defenses. The Byzantines capture the couple and two of the Turks, leaving only the army leader to escape with the vital information. The Turks use it to make an easy conquest, ending the Roman empire, and creating the Ottoman empire.
A young couple from different social classes are unable to overcome the obstacles set by their relatives. The girl is destined to marry a man of her social class, but when the engagement breaks off due to her love for someone else, her father "pushes" her to her death. Her lover will follow her, leaving behind a diary, in which he recounts exactly what happened to the two lovers.
