Biography
Timothy Frank Hartnagel (October 6, 1941 - July 15, 2024) was an American-Canadian sociologist and child actor. He appeared in the Mickey Mouse Club serial Spin and Marty (1955 - 1957) as Clarence "Speckle" Smith. Later he gave up acting to pursue a life in academics, graduating from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and earning a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Indiana. After serving in the army, he was a researcher at Maryland before moving to Edmonton, Alberta. He had a nearly 40-year career as a Professor of Sociology at the University of Alberta, specializing in criminology. He had two children with his wife, Patricia.
