Biography
Gabriel de Sa was born in São Paulo, Brazil. As a toddler, he found an old camcorder—which quickly became his favorite toy. He recorded every single time he was given that or any type of camera. While still a kid, he memorized lines from films and acted them out for everyone he met. When he was six years old, he made his first short film: a Western. It was just like A Fistful of Dollars in his mind. He always had a very creative mind. He used to create stories, characters, and situations in a matter of seconds. CUT TO: Moving to the United States at thirteen, where he discovered a deeper cultural appreciation for cinema that reignited his passion for storytelling. Just a week after his fourteenth birthday, Gabriel—home alone and completely unpressured by friends or relatives—watched his first horror film without getting scared. That opened his eyes to the tremendous possibilities of filmmaking and storytelling. He fell in love with the genre instantly. At fifteen, he was accepted into film school, where he began refining his voice as a filmmaker and deepening his commitment to the craft. Fascinated by surrealism, dark humor, and the eerie corners of human emotion, Gabriel brings a distinctive perspective to genre storytelling through a playful yet visceral lens. This is only the beginning of his creative journey. He has no plans to stop. Ever.
