GMTV is the name of the national Channel 3 breakfast television contractor/licensee, broadcasting in the United Kingdom from 1 January 1993 to 3 September 2010. It became a wholly owned subsidiary of ITV plc in November 2009. Shortly after, ITV plc announced the programme would end. The final edition of GMTV was broadcast on 3 September 2010.

Never Mind the Buzzcocks is a comedy panel game show with a pop and rock music theme. The show is infamous for its dry, sarcastic humour and scathing, provocative attacks on the pop industry.

Solid Gold was an American syndicated music television series that debuted on September 13, 1980. Like many other shows of its genre, such as American Bandstand, Solid Gold featured musical performances and various other elements such as music videos. What set Solid Gold apart was a group of dancers in revealing costumes who at various points in the program performed various dances to the top ten hits of the week. Many other specials aired in which the dancers would dance to older pop hits as well. Reviews of the show were not always positive, with The New York Times referring to it as "the pop music show that is its own parody...[enacting] mini-dramas...of covetousness, lust and aerobic toning--routines that typically have a minimal connection with the songs that back them up." The series ran until July 23, 1988, and it was usually transmitted on Saturdays in the early evening. In 1986, Solid Gold added the current year to its title, so in the seventh season the show was known as Solid Gold '86/'87. For the eighth and last season the program became known as Solid Gold In Concert, reflecting the addition of more live performances than had previously been featured on the program in the past.

Where Are They Now? was a television series on VH1 that featured past celebrities and updated on their current professional and personal status. Each episode was dedicated to another genre. Though not always in sequence, some episodes were a continuation of the motif of episodes from the past. Those episodes sometimes had Roman numerals in their title to signify their sequel status.

Oxford Road Show was a pop music magazine show broadcast on BBC2 from the BBC's New Broadcasting House, Oxford Road, Manchester between 1981 and 1985. The show featured music, pop music news and competitions. Later it was known as "ORS 84" and "ORS 85". The show was presented as addressing issues for young adults by young adults. Many bands and artists popular at the time performed on the show including The Cure, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Simple Minds Marillion and The Smiths. The show had several presenters including Peter Powell, Jackie Spreckley, Janice Long, Timmy Mallett, Richard Witts, Rob Rohrer and Victoria Studd. The show was later parodied as "Nozin' Aroun'" in the first episode of The Young Ones.

Live Aid was held on 13 July 1985, simultaneously in Wembley Stadium in London, England, and the John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, United States. It was one of the largest scale satellite link-ups and television broadcasts of all time: watched live by an estimated global audience of 1.9 billion, across 150 nations. "It's twelve noon in London, seven AM in Philadelphia, and around the world it's time for Live Aid...!"

The comedy event of the year took place in April 1986 at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London. All those taking part gave their services free in order to support the famine relief camp in Umbala in the west of Sudan. This concert film was created for the London premiére launch of Live Aid on dvd in November 2004. It contains selected highlights of the marathon fundraising concert that took place across two continents with worldwide TV coverage on july 13, 1985. The event was never re-broadcast and never available until the release of the Live Aid 4-dvd set almost 20 years later. Hit Me, Baby, One More Time was a 2005 television entertainment show first broadcast on the British television network ITV and later, as a new version, by NBC in the United States; both were presented by Vernon Kay. During each programme, five former pop stars sing their biggest hit along with a cover version of a contemporary hit. Each week one winner is picked from each show by a phone vote or a studio-audience vote, leading to the grand final when the overall winner can release a single featuring both songs or have $20,000 donated to a charity of their choice. The show's title comes from a line in the Britney Spears song "...Baby One More Time". The show proved to be a summer hit for NBC hitting the top spot in the ratings on its first outing. For the U.S. version, some critics argued that the show did not live up to its premise since some groups performed without their original lineup.

In April 1986, inspired by the previous summer's bombastic Live Aid event and the success of Amnesty's first four Secret Policeman's Ball shows, the UK's alternative comedy scene (and a few of the old guard) put on a fund-raising comedy revue at The Shaftesbury Theatre, London. The show's took place on 4-6 April, a recording was broadcast by the BBC on 25 April.

A double DVD called Nena feat. Nena Live was released in 2003. It contained Nena's twentieth anniversary show recorded on 11 October 2002 at Frankfurt am Main. The show ran for nearly three hours, during which Nena invited many friends and fellow musicians to sing along with her: Joachim Witt, Udo Lindenberg, Kim Wilde, Westbam, Markus, Hartmut Engler, Rosenstolz, Mike Tait, Howard Jones, and TokTok, as well as the surviving members of Nena band: Rolf Brendel, Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen and Jürgen Dehmel. The second DVD contains footage of Nena and her band on tour, interviews, and three music videos: "99 Luftballons" (2002 Version), "Wunder gescheh'n" (Red Nose Version), and "Leuchtturm" (2002 Version).

When her TV star husband Alex decides to divorce her so that he can start a career in politics, newly single mother Maddy goes shoplifting and ends up in jail. Losing custody of her infant child, Maddy hatches a scheme to break out of prison with the assistance of her friend Gillian, who's avoiding the law herself for credit card fraud.
