A female college basketball player realizes her life is in danger when a childhood friend, who transfers to the same college, tries to get rid of everyone close to her so she can be her one and only "best friend."

MaryBeth, a sanitation worker, is on her morning route when the Mayor's wife is murdered. She hears something in the forest but, due to a contentious relationship with the local sheriff, chooses not to disclose what she may have witnessed. The murderers, aware of MaryBeth's presence and potential to expose them, are determined to silence her.
