Biography
Héctor José Cámpora (1909-1980) was Argentina's president from May 25th to June 13th 1973. His presidency lasted less than a year because he was pressured to call for new elections so that Perón could become president for a third time, after being exiled for 17 years. Cámpora's brief presidency was marked as a time of liberty in the middle of Argentina's most violent decade. For this reason, combined with his sympathetic attitude, he received the nickname of "El tío" Cámpora.
