East Germany, 1986: Petra and Conni, two female workers at the ORWO film factory, secretly shoot lesbian sex films and thus come under the Stasi’s scrutiny—not only because they are boycotting the system, but also because the films spark a longing for freedom in the West, making them a major export hit.
The dark rooms of a film factory become a film set for lesbian eroticism and the socialist factory becomes a safe space and hotspot for queer-lesbian love.
