While the Japanese army was plotting to make Manchuria an independent nation for strategic reasons, Kawashima Yoshiko, a beautiful woman disguised as a man, escorted Wanrong Fei, the wife of Emperor Puyi, who was dressed in a cheongsam, out of Tianjin and, while avoiding attacks from pursuers, led her to the hotel where Puyi was staying.
High school student Miruku lives with her bedridden grandfather on the countryside, and dreams of becoming a dancer. After some money goes missing at dance practice and Miruku's role in the group is compromised, her grandfather tells her about her mother, herself a famous dancer, and Miruku decides to go and find her in Tokyo.
