Fernando de Miguel Fuertes
Directing
Biography
Fernando de Miguel Fuertes (born September 16, 1987) is a Mexican-Australian writer-director whose work moves fluidly between screen and stage. His films have screened at festivals across Australia, China, Italy and Mexico. Fernando's storytelling blurs the boundary between inner life and outer reality. He places power, complicity and the tension between worlds at the centre of his stories. Fernando conjures his films in close communion with production designers, composers, sound designers, cinematographers and the actors themselves. His work spans original stories and bold reimaginings of existing material. A National Institute of Dramatic Art graduate (MFA Directing), his chapter on screen performance was published in the 2026 Routledge anthology Stanislavsky and Screen Actor Training.
