The actors of the Umorsk theater are already over 30, and they face natural life questions about prospects and self-realization for their age. When the director of the theater opens a nightclub on the small stage of the theater, calling it the "cabaret theater," the quartet decides to change their lives. Watching through a hole in the wall of the dressing room, which is adjacent to the newly founded club, young people study the structure of the institution and discover a safe with illegal money from the club's turnover.
