Zhuzha's world consists of observation, careful scrutiny, and study, but not interaction. Unlike her younger sister, violinist Anka, whose world consists of endless rehearsals, school bustle, and preparation for impending university entrance exams. They are the closest people to each other, but everything changes when Zhuzha meets Yura, a deaf boy for whom she becomes a conduit, a way to connect with sounds inaccessible to him, and, without realizing it, she suddenly transforms from a background extra into the protagonist of her own story.
