Carmen I. Perez is an American filmmaker originally from Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Electronic Media, Arts, and Communication, and graduated from Emerson College with an MFA in Film and Media Art. Her films tend to explore themes of queerness and feminism through the lens of horror.

She has severe dementia that gets worse the longer he attempts to care for her, and eventually he begins to wonder if she would simply be better off dead.
