Biography
Raul Zauroghlu (born 2004) is an Azerbaijani filmmaker and screenwriter known for his psychologically nuanced and emotionally restrained storytelling. A graduate of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (ADMİU), his films explore themes of loneliness, loss, and inner truth through a minimalist yet symbolic visual style. He first gained attention with his social short film Qəfəs (“The Cage”) and later founded the production company π MMC. Zauroghlu has worked at İctimai TV, MTV Azerbaijan, and Propaganda Agency, and has collaborated with On4 Production on various projects. His notable works include Qəfəs and 19:00. Blending personal introspection with universal emotion, Zauroghlu is recognized as one of the emerging and distinctive voices of contemporary Azerbaijani cinema.
