Biography
Ferd Isaacs is a Pretoria-based cinematographer and director with an international career spanning three decades. His journey in film began in the mid-1990s with acting roles in Akin Omotoso’s seminal short films Bottles and The Constant K. Isaacs has since established himself as a versatile visual storyteller, directing and shooting music videos across South Africa, Japan, and South Korea. His portfolio includes collaborations with a diverse roster of international artists from Italy, Japan, South Korea, and his native South Africa. In 2023, he furthered his cinematic reach in Seoul, directing his debut short film and serving as Director of Photography on the short Motive. He is currently directing the film My Name is Elsa.
