Biography
Santiago Martín (Caracas, 2002). Graduate of the National Film School (Venezuela). His work focuses on essays, documentaries, and hybrid films. He has three completed short films to his credit, made during his academic studies: “La eternidad oculta de Benjamín Martín Baute” (The Hidden Eternity of Benjamín Martín Baute) (2021), “Mixtape del Exilio” (Mixtape of Exile) (2023), and his latest work, his final graduation project titled “Última vez, hace mucho tiempo” (Last seen, Long Time Ago) (2026), which premiered at the 55th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam. All of his films were made under the umbrella of ‘El Guayabo’, a film project he founded with his two best friends. The label has also welcomed and collaborated on various film projects from his generation. His films often deal with themes such as migration, family life and the exploration of memory through cinema. He has also worked on various film projects as a creative producer.
