Told in a looping-narrative, “The Mushroom” is a short film about a couple who topples through a surreal free-fall where foraged mushrooms hold the macabre connection between life and death. Each repetition of the story reveals more ambiguous and nefarious layers of the characters being revealed.

In 1956, a visionary writer undergoes a forbidden occult procedure to experience death firsthand - then returns to complete her magnum opus and confront the meaning of life (and death) itself.
