In late 19th-century Turin, young Lidia Poët fights against everything and everyone to get what is rightfully hers: to be enrolled in the official register of lawyers; a profession, at the time, reserved exclusively for men. Nevertheless, nothing could stop her dream of becoming the first female lawyer in Italy.
1977. Sixteen-year-old Mario lives in a small village in Ticino, Italian-speaking Switzerland. While society around him is shifting in many ways, he experiences his first awkward sentimental approaches, has trouble in school, and constantly clashes with a father who doesn’t seem to get him.
Spring 1945. A night of celebration for the end of the war becomes the beginning of a tragedy for little Egea Haffner: men in uniform take her father away and throw him into a foiba. It is only the beginning: shortly afterwards, Egea will be forced to leave her homeland with a suitcase and face an uncertain future.
