Biography
Gabriel Garton is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, and a nonfiction film and television editor, writer and producer. He is based in New York City. His documentary feature film, Shayni in the Sky (2025), was a finalist for Best Documentary Feature at the Oscar-Qualifying Doc Edge Festival in New Zealand. He edited the 4-part series, When Truth Isn't Truth: The Rudy Giuliani Story (2023) for NBC Studios, the groundbreaking 5-part series Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission to Space (2021) for Netflix, and produced and edited the documentary feature film, Wild Home (2014), which won the Audience Award at the Camden International Film Festival. Gabriel's short documentary, Covid Nurses (2020) won Best Documentary at the Coney Island Film Festival, the Hometown Hero Award at the Brooklyn Independent Film Festival, and the Award of Merit in the Best Shorts Competition. He volunteers his time mentoring students on the art of documentary film editing in Queens, New York.
