Biography
Born in Vienna, Austria, Laurenz is a self-taught filmmaker and film scholar with a background in music and performance. He sang in the Vienna State Opera children’s choir and later attended the Vienna Boys Choir High School. After studying Japanese Studies with a focus on film history and political science, he began making his own films during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. His work combines academic research on film genres with hands-on experience across all stages of production.
