Superstitious 7 year old Lycke and her grandma go to pick chanterelles from their secret mushroom picking spot. On the way there grandpa tells the girl the tale of the Elf ring and it's dangers. The rowing trip back home doesn't go without trouble, and as they've already made their way back, mom says that grandpa's condition has worsened. Lycke desides to save her grandpa.
