1932. Western Ukraine. The fighters of an underground Ukrainian organization conduct a revolutionary action against the government. Contrary to their plans, it turns into a bloody slaughter. Now the choice of young patriots is small: death or immortality.

After the liberation of his home village, a Ukrainian soldier with the call sign “Kid” together with his comrade visits the uncle who raised him. Seven years prior “Kid” left home in pursuit of his dreams, but the desire to visit his family brings him back. The uncle, however, has a secret to hide.

A photographer and his friend, an ethnographer who loves her work, come to the village to celebrate Ivanа-Kupala. But a number of mystical events make them realize that the purpose of their trip is completely different.
