Worthless French cad Paul L'Estrange leads a young Southern girl, Linda Lou Heath, from the shelter of her home in Dixie to a cabin in the Canadian wilderness, where he soon tires of his new plaything. He has a friend carry a message of his death to her and leaves her to the ravages of a cold Canadian winter. Her childhood sweetheart, David Tennant, comes to her rescue, they marry, and he takes a position in Malaysia. There, she finds her first husband, whom she thought dead, serving a term in the government prison--soon to be released. The Southern belle, the former Linda Lou Heath from the 'land o' cotton', is now in a Malayan jungle as Linda Lou Heath L'Estrange Tennant, the wife of two husbands.

Frank Magee teams up with Sandy, his father's ex-partner, and falls in love with June Rance, daughter of his father's murderer. Sánchez and Black Pete learn from Sandy the whereabouts of his mine, kill Rance, and attempt to file a claim on the mine. When Frank tries to overtake them, he is too late but finds that June has filed ahead of the Mexicans.

While visiting New York, lumberman Angus MacDonald is introduced to cabaret dancer Ruth Mayo by his friend Sinclair. Their romance culminates in marriage, and soon MacDonald takes his bride back to the Northwest. Ruth grows tired of the Northwest, and MacDonald returns with her to New York, where their child is born; but his business does not permit him to remain. One night Ruth returns to the cafe, dances with her old partner, and accepts an agent's offer of a European tour. Six years later, MacDonald learns that his daughter is dancing at the same cafe, and through her a reconciliation is effected between husband and wife.

A young girl is kidnapped and thrown in the empty basket of a hot-air balloon. The balloon is accidentally cut loose and drifts to the middle of darkest Africa. The young girl is captured by cannibals, but instead of being eaten, she is turned into a goddess by the tribe. Years afterward, a young man who had been a childhood friend of hers mounts an expedition into the jungle to find and rescue her.
