Biography
Joan Manuel Cabrera is a Uruguayan director and producer based between Montevideo and Madrid. He works across film and photography, his practice has led him to collaborate with regional artists from fields such as cinema, painting, music, and fashion. In 2024, his short film "Simon" (2024) was nominated for Best National Short Film at the Uruguayan Critics Choice Awards (ACCU), and won the same award at several local festivals. That same year, his fashion film "Going Away" (2024) was selected for the Festival de Cine Nuevo (Detour). His most recent projects include the independent short films "Prejudices" and "Wild Cinema", currently in development, as well as editorial works across fashion.
