This story began back in 1986. Perestroika was already underway, but the Soviet Union had not yet collapsed. "Traffic Light" is a story about three childhood friends. They are slightly over 30. They are men in their prime. One is married, another is busy, the third is free as the wind. Terror strikes the underground train system in Moscow in the form of a flood from a collapsed tunnel. The film follows a diverse group of Moscow citizens who find themselves trapped in the city’s underground rail network, their train derailed and virtually crushed after an aging tunnel collapses. Amongst this band of survivors is softly spoken surgeon Andrey (Sergei Puskepalis), whose wife is having an affair with the conceited businessman Vlad (Anatoly Beliy). Fate brings these two men together on the same doomed train, but there is little time to resolve their differences, as the tunnel begins to quickly fill with water, forcing them to work together with the others and find a way back to the surface.

Jenia is a workaholic - glossy magazine editor. Stas is celebrity photographer. She is ambitious, and he on the contrary always relaxed. Jenia's ig dream is to become editor in chief, but for that to happen she needs to find a husband immediately! The condition given by the shareholders of the magazine is strict: since magazine is family-oriented - it needs a family person as a boss. To solve this problem Jenia has only a week. Stas decides to help the girl, having connections of lot of bachelors who could well fit to be the future husband. But Jenia suddenly realizes that she is not that ambitious, and Stas was surprised to discover he is in love.

Arriving in Moscow, the young, energetic provincial woman quickly joins the circle of booksellers. Having charmed her boss, Svetik got a job in the antiquarian literature department. But soon she herself fell in love, and the gullible bibliomaniac becomes the master of her unspent energy.
