This film uses the important process of "pattern making" in Chinese cheongsam craftsmanship as a medium to tell the story of a father and son living in a Beijing hutong. Their relationship is shaped by the inheritance of their craft, leading to many heartwarming and touching moments. Despite numerous challenges, the father and son ultimately unite their hearts to bring Chinese cheongsam to the world stage.

Winter 1996, Harbin. Sha Guo, a boy with a uniquely feminine singing voice, loves to sing but faces bullying and isolation at school, along with strict control and pressure from his obsessive mother. By chance, he meets Sitiao, a nightclub host and stage director. To defend his dignity, pursue his dreams, and find his true self, Sha Guo leaves home and, with Sitiao's support, steps onto the nightclub stage as a cross-dressing singer.
