Biography
Quebec director, dancer and artist Simon Vermeulen discovered the expressive power of body language on screen by choreographing and producing “Der Untermensch” (TIFF 2013). After studying music in London and feature film screenwriting at L'inis, he wrote, directed, choreographed, danced and produced two new short films: “Saint-Rémi” (FIFA 2024) and “Muses” (2024).

Muses
A dancer stranded in the debris of a mine is revived by the celestial energy beating within him. Despite the desolation, Saint-Rémi is an ode to revegetation, a hope that the flora, like the dancer, will resurface in search of light, even if it is only beyond our existence.
