Biography
Parzival Ortiz is a Bengali Indian filmmaker, was born in Dubai in 2002. Parzi is an award-winning writer, director, and photographer. A graduate of Middlesex University Dubai’s Film program, Parzi began his career directing shorts like Donuts and Reflection, which won 2nd and 3rd place respectively at Film Society DXB. He later joined Abu Dhabi TV’s Ealaa Al Tariq as a Production Assistant, gaining hands-on experience in large-scale broadcast production. Over the last few years, Parzi has worked on more than 30+ short films, music videos, and documentaries/mockumentaries, continuously shaping his visual language. His parallel work as a photographer has seen him capture the B-Hype Hip-Hop Contest, corporate galas for Carta and UrbanVista, editorial fashion shoots, and travel photography across Kolkata and Uganda, documenting raw humanity through cinematic stills. Parzi often collaborates with his partner, actress-producer Nyxophine Ortiz, whom he met on the set of Donuts. The two have since built a creative partnership, with Nyx producing Reflection and taking on both a lead role and producer credit in Parzi’s upcoming debut feature film.
