Senior Lieutenant of the Navy Aleksey Alekhin, once descending to the seabed in a bathyscaphe, finds himself in a strange underwater cave that serves as a portal to a fabulous world. In this new unfamiliar place, he meets a little dragon left without a mother. Aleksey unwittingly becomes the dragon's guardian and friend and gives the baby the name Gorynych.

After the divorce of his parents, 15-year-old teenager Valya Lapin is forced to move with his mother to the province, where everything disgusts him. But he knows that as soon as the school year ends, he will move to his father in Canada. Lapin decides to lie low, wait, just exist in anticipation of moving.
