As a child, Lyla Cross stumbled upon one of the elemental orbs which arrived on earth from a spaceship. years later, she is pitted against an organization called the Inheritors which sends Truce and Curt Liner to kidnap Lyla in attempt to possess all of the orbs. Now, 16-year-old Elijah Cross is entrusted with the task of finding and rescuing his mother (Lyla) while also protecting the orb his mother found.

Eve returns home to her Midwestern family from New York with her Transgender friend, Alex. Tensions arise as her traditional family grapples with her changes, and Eve must navigate these challenges to reconcile her past and present.
