Biography
Miko Biong is a filmmaker from Marikina and a graduate of the University of the Philippines Film Institute. He produced Ang Alamat Kung Bakit Kalabaw Lang ang Tumatanda (2024), an official selection of the 36th Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video; Champ Green (2025), which won Best Short Film at the Puregold CinePanalo 2025; and Coding Si Papa (2025), Special Mention at the SineKabataan Short Film Festival 2025. His debut short film, Bahay, Baboy, Bagyo (When the Pigs Storm Our Houses), premiered at The Manila Film Festival 2024, won Best Short Film at the 12th ActiveVista Human Rights Film Festival, and was named one of Rappler’s Best Films of 2024. Biong believes that cinema should go beyond entertainment and serve as a tool for social and political engagement.
