From a small spark, a geopolitical conflagration is ignited, capable of causing enormous damage.
17th century. In the dense Siberian taiga, lives the Shlykov family of Old Believers. They guard an ancient, miraculous icon that has saved them from harm on numerous occasions. The icon formerly belonged to the boyar Morozov and came into their possession after his arrest. Rumors of the numerous miracles performed by this icon spread far and wide. The memory of the icon has endured for centuries.
Investigator Igor Zhuk arrives at his new duty station in Vyborg, but fate does not let him go. When the disfigured body of a young girl is found in the nearby forest, he realizes that he has already seen a similar case. The brutal murder has something to do with the fate of his dead wife, and Igor decides to find the perpetrators by all means. He teams up with police Captain Chagin, a talented detective who is used to acting not according to the rules, but according to justice.
The history of the series develops around three Suvorov graduates - Ilya Sukhomlin, Stepan Perepechko and Alexei Syrnikov, who entered the Moscow Higher Military Command School at the end of the summer, where each of them is awarded the rank of junior sergeant. Along with the Suvorovites, graduates of ordinary schools, without a military education, called "schoolchildren" - Dmitry Krasilnikov, Gennady Varnava and Nikolai Kovnadsky, enter the school. The third side is made up of the so-called "army men" - Evgeny Bragin, Sergey Gonchar and Stepan Prokhorov - who have already served as conscripts in the army and have more practice than theory. Later, Maxim Makarov, transferred from St. Petersburg for a fight with a colleague, joins the main characters. Aleksey Syrnikov, meanwhile, is being transferred to the Ryazan Airborne School, which he dreamed about while still being a Suvorovite.
