Biography
Behnam Jafari (1951-1979), was an Iranian filmmaker and one of the first to join the Cinema-ye Azad movement. He began filmmaking individually before Cinema-ye Azad was even formed. Upon learning about the establishment of Cinema-ye Azad in its early months in 1969, he joined the movement. Throughout the 10-year history of Cinema-ye Azad's activities, he became one of the most recognized and important filmmakers of this movement.
