This is a story about the families of those that once were our witnesses, our eyes and our voice, but were threatened, had to leave Mexico and forced to live in exile, seeking for political asylum. It is not about powerful journalists, it is about invisible reporters that represent the weakest links of the news network’s chain and now are living in an immigration limbo.
In the past, there was only one path to success in Mexican politics: the path of the PRI. But the PRI is not just a political party; it is the institution that shaped Mexico's public and political behavior. It survived armed uprisings, student movements, economic crises, electoral defeats, and corruption scandals, but it was arrogance, corruption, inconsistency, and abuse of power that ultimately brought it down.
The case of Héctor Rángel, who disappeared in 2009. Through various testimonies, primarily that of the Rangel sisters, the investigation explores violence, lawlessness, and ethics in mexican society.
