The plot is based on the defense of Petrograd from Yudenich's troops in 1919.

Formerly a squadron commander, the hero worked at the small airfield for many years. Komesk - as his colleagues call him in a friendly manner - is now retired. Every day with his little granddaughter Zaya, Komesk comes to the airfield - and it often happens that the decision of the entire team depends on his word.

The film is about the fate of the soldiers of the Izhora battalion. Formed from the factory’s workers, the battalion took part in decisive battles against the regular units of the Nazi army and ended its heroic journey on the coast of the Baltic Sea.

One day, he gathers friends to build his dream house overnight. He found her at a roadside restaurant, and they walked through the forest all night, and in the morning he puts her in the car and takes her away.
