Yitzhak Sverdlov

The warm relationship between Mendel, an elderly Holocaust survivor, and his Filipino caretaker, Jose, is tested when Jose does not have a work permit and the police begin searching the neighborhood for illegal foreign workers.

Shosho, who is secular, and Naama, who is religious, got divorced 2 years ago. Their four-year-old daughter has become dependent on her pacifier, and Shosho and Naama are trying to wean her off it. But Naama understands dependence. She cannot wean herself from the old dream of life with Shosho.
